Florida Hospital Fish Memorial (FHFM) is proud to host its Third Annual Physicians' Memorial Golf (PMG) Classic at the beautiful Heathrow Country Club on Monday, December 12, 2011, with a shotgun start at 9:30am. This charity fundraising event is sponsored by EMPros, our emergency physician group, staffing the emergency department of Florida Hospital Fish Memorial. All proceeds going to benefit cancer patients of West Volusia, through Florida Hospital Fish Memorial Cancer Institute. Participation and sponsorship of the PMG Classic will give you and your firm a unique opportunity to promote your business and highlight your leadership position in the community. There are various levels of sponsorships that are designed to meet your budget and marketing objectives.

Mary S. Howarth, MD 1915-2010 |

After the Great Depression and just before the start of World War II, Mary S. Howarth graduated from medical school at the University of Tennessee and began a career in medicine that spanned more than 70 years.
“Dr. Mary,” as she was known, was a no-nonsense physician who began her career in the 30’s as a general surgeon, performing hysterectomies, vein-stripping, tonsillectomies, and appendectomies. Sometimes, Dr. Mary and her sister Sara (also a physician) would operate together and their fee would be less than the anesthesiologist’s.
With a can-do spirit and a willingness to make housecalls, Dr. Mary had a wealth of stories from her long career spanning three states.

The PMG Classic will be held at the beautiful Heathrow Country Club in Heathrow, FL. . This private 18-hole Championship Golf Course was designed by Ron Garl and presents a challenging but enjoyable Par 71. The 6,888-yard majestic layout winds through rolling terrain with stately oak trees, native pines and natural tree lines, as well as pristine lakes, streams and ponds. There are five picturesque par 3's highlighted by the course's signature 12th Hole. Located in the prestigious Heathrow community and home course to PGA Professional Chris DiMarco, this unique golf course was designed to challenge players of all skill levels. |
